Horizon's own zoom, formerly an extra in Options > Horizon Extras.

  • Hold the key (Z by default) to zoom in at the starting zoom; let go and the view comes back.
  • While you hold it, the mouse wheel zooms further in or out (up to 10x) and the hotbar stays put.
  • Smooth zoom eases in and out like the spyglass; slower turning keeps aiming steady.
  • Settings: Options > Mods > Zoom > Settings (the key; starting zoom; smooth zoom; slower turning).

It hears its own key and the mouse wheel while you hold it, and zooms the camera: nothing else.

Mods run in a sandbox with no file, network or clock access. The game refuses a mod whose code uses more than this list.

Install

  1. In the launcher: Mods, pick Horizon beside Modrinth, find Zoom and press Install. It checks the file's checksum first.
  2. From a terminal or an agent: horizon-launcher mods install --source horizon zoom
  3. By hand: download zoom-1.0.0.hmod (16 KB), check its SHA-256 below, and put it in horizon-mods/ beside options.txt in the game folder, then turn it on in the game: Options > Mods.
