Free flight, a high and wide follow view, and nine tripod positions — now native to Horizon.
This is the native Rust edition of FreeCam by Yannis_ on Modrinth (project ID: zHbMgWKx). Use the Modrinth edition with Java/Fabric and this native edition with Horizon. Both use the same existing FreeCam artwork.
The Java edition originated from MinecraftFreecam/Freecam and its contributors. Original MIT notices are retained in the repository and bundle. This is an independently maintained port, not an official release of MinecraftFreecam or Horizon.
For Minecraft 26.3 and Horizon commit 2ebf00a0281c592f79191e76fce0e7d522c6f425. Two internal hooks provide independent mouse look and player-body visibility, so this release requires that pinned Horizon revision.
The camera only shows chunks already loaded around the player. Free flight passes through blocks and suppresses player movement input and block interactions; follow mode leaves player controls active. World unload and disconnect clear camera state.
No networking, telemetry, background threads, obstruction hiding, block scanning or chunk rebuilding. Settings use Horizon’s local storage. Optional Java collision, fullbright, fog and hand-display settings are not included in this first port.
13 distinct core/adapter tests, the full Horizon native build check, and official package validation pass. GitHub CI also passes. Interactive Horizon-world testing and performance measurements remain pending; this is a preview release. Validation details.
Not an official Minecraft product. Not approved by or associated with Mojang or Microsoft.
A native mod is Rust code that the launcher compiles into a game of its own, the Native mods instance. It is not sandboxed: it can do anything you can on this computer. The launcher builds it only after a warning that names it, and a reviewer read its source before it was listed. Read the source yourself before you build it. How native mods work

Initial native Horizon release: F4 free flight, F6 follow camera, nine tripod slots and persistent speed/distance/height settings. Version 1.0.1 hides the crosshair in F6 follow view and restores normal crosshair rendering on exit. No obstruction hiding.
