A compass bar at the top of your screen that shows where you are facing, in degrees, and slides smoothly as you turn.

Features

Compass letters (N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W, NW) in a color you choose
Death points: every time you die, a marker stays on the bar with the distance to where you died
Reaching a death point turns it into an X with a countdown, or look at it and press X to dismiss it
Arrows with the distance at the edge of the bar for death points out of view
Optional background box and four sizes (75% to 150%)
No commands

Settings are in Options → Mods → Compass Bar. Death points are not saved: they vanish when you close the game.

May show you chat messages
May save its own settings to disk
Uses the render capability
Uses the input capability
Uses the ui capability

Mods run in a sandbox with no file, network or clock access. The game refuses a mod whose code uses more than this list.

From a terminal or an agent

horizon-launcher mods install --source horizon compass_bar

In the launcher

Open Mods, pick Horizon beside Modrinth, find Compass Enhanced and press Install. It checks the file's checksum and signature first.

By hand

Download compass_bar-0.1.0.hmod with the button above, check its SHA-256 against the one under File, and put it in horizon-mods/ beside options.txt in the game folder, then turn it on in the game: Options, then Mods.
